Fried Haddock
Ingredients: Directions:
  • 4 Haddock fillets
  • 100g Plain flour
  • Salt
  • White pepper
  • 1 tbsp peanut oil
  • 100ml Milk
  • 100ml real ale beer
  • 1 Egg white

Serves 4

  1. Preheat oil in deep fryer.
  2. Sieve the flour, a pinch of salt and pepper(to taste) in a bowl.
  3. Hollow out a spot in the middle and add the oil.
  4. Gradually hisk in the milk and beer until smooth and frothy.
  5. Let stand for 1 hour.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk the egg whites until thick.
  7. Fold eggs into the batter.
  8. Dust haddock fillets with flour. Dip in batter and deep fry until golden brown.
